This course is designed to review the theory of conflict in a variety of business settings. It will review theoretical and applied issues in causes of conflict, prevention, use in problem solving, and creativity. The course will look at constructive conflict, escalation practices, justice, and peacekeeping, and examine types of Alternative Dispute Resolutions commonly used in legal, political, and business environments. Attendees to this course will gain an understanding of the definitions and theories of conflict as well as the positives and negatives of conflict to individual and team situations. Attendees will be able to recognize both best and worst practices of conflict resolution when determining which will benefit different types of organizations and situations.
